Governor Lalong Declares Dusk-to-Dawn Curfew As Hausas And Igbos Clash In Jos

 

   Residents said many individuals have been wounded on Rwang Pam street, a region said to be dominated by Igbos, and Ahmadu Bello approach.

Police and different security officers have, however, arrived to calm the case.
Meanwhile the Governor of plateau State Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has declared a twilight to dawn curfew. read his announcement below….

Following the unfortunate reaction and spread of rumours inside the Jos Metropolis in response to the agitation by independent people of Biafra in South eastern Nigeria, the executive Governor of plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has directed an instantaneous imposition of curfew from twilight to dawn (6pm – 6am) within the greater Jos – Bukuru Metropolis, till any notice; this is to forestall any break down of law and order. the executive Governor has directed the immediate deployment of security personnel to any or all flash points within the Jos Metropolis to make sure compliance with the curfew and to avert to any extent further breach of the peace.
